Those Cee-Lo and Big Boi verses are still the best.
The fact that Trick named his album [www.thug.com] is still the worst.
You’ve gotta consider the timing of that album title. But if he comes out with a mixtape named “twitter.com/thug”, completely disregard this message.
“Can’t Fuck Wit The South” is worthy of a mention most folk have already heard it and prolly didn’t realize. If you been to any club on the East Coast that played rap music, pre-skinny jeans era, the DJ played it and brought it back after the first verse.
“Hold on…Wait one muthafukin minute!”
IMHO “Thug Niggas Don’t Live That Long” is THE song off that based on a true story album.
Trick with the bald head…that’s a scary sight!
BTW – Posing in front of the OG $1 food stamp is some ghetto ish for yo’ ass.
Ayo! “Let’s Go” was that JOINT! Y’all took me back to freshman year in college. My dorm mates and I use to knock each other down via mosh pit when that joint came on. AIGHT AIGHT AIGHT!
Also how you gon have an essential Trick Daddy list and not have “Take It to the House” aka the essential high school party jam in the aughts?
First y’all leave Get It Wet off the Twista list and now this. TISK!!!!! lol
That was a posse cut wit a couple no names, Trina & Trick. That album as a whole had too many no names featured in the liner notes.
Still, I can see an argument for it’s inclusion on this list.
Can’t go wrong with a James Brown sample. Works almost every time.
I was thinking the same thing. For some odd reason I was listening to Trick Daddy all day yesterday and that song and sample make you move.
I try not to think of that song because it feels like that was his peak and it went downhill from there.
Trick is a legend. One of the better southern rappers in my lifetime. But in no way will I co-sign his new movement being called “EatABootyGang” and posing with four dudes in a bathroom.
Nah, just can’t do that.
Where’s that michael scott no gif at? SMH…
*takes off shades dramatically*
Dear god…no amount of pauses in the world can clean that up.
andddddddd thats it for me folks. have a good day, see ya thursday. that is a walk away moment right there, no arguements, just accept it and walk away.
First thing I thought out of when I saw this was I’m A Thug and Rick Ross’s shot at Trick on Valley of Death.
Ricky mad sensitive. Resorting to lies cause Trick exposed him as a CO.
At least I hope that was a lie. For Trick’s sake.
HOW CAN Y’ALL LEAVE OFF “SHUT UP”?????
“Take it to the House”, “Can’t fuck with the South” ??
Yeah, “Shut Up” is another one.
Trick got more hits then I thought.
DAAAAAAAMMMNNNN!!!! How did I forget about “Shut Up”?
Leaving out “shut up” and “take it to the house” was intentional because I didn’t want the whole list to be singles…..which was hard because he had quite a few good ones
only songs of his, no features
Born n raised????
That’s Khaled Khlaed, not Trick Daddy.
No Shut Up? No Take It To The House? No Boy?! (okay Boy wasn’t that good)
I’m not a Trick Daddy Dollas fan but those were the first two songs that came to mind before I even clicked the slideshow.
I prefer J.O.D.D. over Sugar. That beat banged and encapsulates the era of doing videos with the lead single and then doing a snippet of the street single for about a minute at the end
On a related note, the moment Phonte became my favorite MC was when I heard him say:
“Fuck that, I’m ’bout to kick some Trick Daddy next poetry night, like…
…my black queen…
…DON’T KNOW NA’N NIGGA!!”
Came here to mention “Thug For Life”
“Book of Thugs: Chapter AK Verse 47” has to be top 5 album names of all time or nah?
