Between the lightening fast rise of Bobby Shmurda and the dance that comes with him and Rae Sremmurd’s “No Flex Zone,” there’s another topic altogether waiting to be discussed how the word “organic rise” is a classic oxymoron in rap.*
All week, Sremmurd’s hit has been receiving the remix treatment from some of the game’s more prominent names. Nicki Minaj, Juicy J and now Pusha T have all added their own takes to the obvious “song of the summer” candidate. With Pusha involved, the talk revolves around the topic he’s made a career off broadcasting.
The rap game Marv Albert claims to have “sold more dope than the old Jigga” and “now n*ggas callin’ me the new Hov.” True or not, it’s all pyrex, dope money and streets politics everything for the brief lyrical exercise from the 757’s own.
* – I’d be a bold face liar if I said French’s remix to “Hot N*gga” doesn’t sound insane, though.
