All Randy Moss Wants Is One More Shot At A Super Bowl

Where it appears an Allen Iverson comeback may have just wasted its last life line, the return of one Randy Moss may be upon us. Starting with an Adam Schefter tweet, then followed by an impromptu (and awesome) birthday Ustream from the future Hall of Famer, the question now stands. How much does Moss have left in the tank?

NFL Network reporter Jason La Canfora claims teams around the league continue to contact Randy in regards to his (once) once in a lifetime talents. “He has fielded calls,” La Canfora said of Moss. “I’d say every week or two, somebody calls in and checks. ‘Hey Randy, what do you think about our situation’. Check in with his agent (Joel Segal). Nothing has enticed him to this point, but I’d call him quasi-retired, at best, because I can continue hear ‘if the right team, with the right quarterback at the right price called,’ that Randy Moss could be ready to go.”

On one hand, Randy wanting to play for a contender makes all the sense in the world. There’s obviously more years behind him than in front, and at this point all that really matters in his career is a Super Bowl title. Part of the reason I drive myself almost to the point of actual sports insanity about LeBron and rings is because of a players in Randy Moss’ ilk. Here’s this guy, one of the most talented football players I’ve seen with my own two eyes (when he wanted to be), who could very well end his career without the one validation every professional athlete seeks. Personally, seeing Randy receive one last shot at the rodeo, ball out for a contender while helping them get over the hump would be an amazing sight and his post game press conference would be the footage of NFL folklore.

However, given what we last saw of Moss in 2010-2011, that may be more of a pipe dream than anything.
