Most rap shows suck.

Dudes going back and forth in a 10 foot diameter, rapping over a CD with their lyrics already on the track is not cracking at all.

Ice Cube is an exception to the above statement.

On Tuesday August 26th he came through San Francisco for the fourth stop in what will be a twenty-one city tour. He didn’t have an opening act and didn’t need one. Joined by WC and DJ Crazy Toones, but without his trademark inflated Westside hand, Cube took the stage at 9:30 and for 90 minutes rocked a flawless set. If I were a more of a journalist and less of a fan I would have taken notes on what songs he played. Unfortunately, I like to enjoy myself. I can tell you it was heavy on the more recent joints, with an obvious emphasis placed on the Raw Footage tracks, but he did dip into the classics.

All I can say is if and when Cube comes to your city, GO! He is a true professional, a captivating showman and not to mention one of the rawest MC’s to ever do it. He knows how to perform, and just like he does with his music drop some game while you’re nodding your head.
