RIM Cuts Nearly 2,000 Jobs

RIM’s woes continue as it slashed 11% of its workforce, issuing roughly 2,000 pink slips handed out this morning in an already brutal job market. The cut is another indication that BlackBerry founder is still on a sinking ship, in an ocean dominated by tech giants Apple and Google.

The bad news comes after the 10″ model of their PlayBook tablet was recently pulled from development in late June. At this point there hasn’t been anything positive coming out of RIM’s headquarters in months – minus the acquisition of video editing company JayCut – and all signs are indicating that it’s just a matter of time before it going the way of Borders.
