Need a reprieve from the Don Sterling nonsense? Jimmy Fallon’s got it covered.
Tonight, Robinson Cano makes his first return to New York taking on his former team, the Yankees, as a newly minted mega-millionaire with his new squad, the Mariners. To be expected, a litany of boos will rain down in the Bronx because fans of the winningest team in baseball history don’t take too kindly to being left at the alter with cake on their face.
Being the kind man he is, Fallon allowed Yankees diehards the opportunity to get a jump on the festivities by booing a large cardboard cut out of their former second basemen. The trick is, Cano’s actually there. There’s so much backpedalling in this social experiment that if you squint your eyes and tilt your head at a 52 degree angle, the clip could come off as a Deion Sanders highlight reel from the ’90s.
More importantly, Fallon’s on to something with this. It’s like Twitter bullies being hit with instant karma.
