rza si now interview

We published RZA’s interview with Hot 97 on Wednesday, the one in which he didn’t have the answers. No sooner than we did that, the Wu captain/Brick Mansions actor continued his recent press run by doing a reddit AMA as well as making an appearance on SI Now where he tackled the Raekwon conundrum head-on.

When asked by show host Maggie Gray if there was a timeline or timetable for the their upcoming album, A Better Tomorrow, RZA put it in the plainest of terms: “The album is slated to come out in July. If we don’t come to terms within the next 30 days, then this will be an album without Raekwon or the album that will not see the light of day.”

But, not all hope is lost. “Gut feelings says yes” was RZA’s reply to Gray’s question of whether fans would hear the album. “My gut has been good. I’ve been pretty good,” he explained. “I got a 90% batting average.”

Watch the teaser clip below. The full SI Now interview is set to air today at 1PM, which means we’ll likely see another update in the As The Wu Turns drama.
