Saigon already picked his poison. His decision to be a torchbearer and flag-waver for the culture is the road less traveled when you only have one shot to make it. That shot may have resulted in thousands of days waiting in limbo, but those who experienced The Greatest Story Never Told know the wait only blessed Hip-Hop with the kind of product that has been lost in this current state of music.
The video for the rock-tinged “Bring Me Down Pt. 2” depicts the journey as a battlefield, and rightfully so. Keeping your eyes on the prize while holding tight to your beliefs is one that would make most crumble under the pressure in most cases. Saigon avoided the breaking point by finally releasing his debut and thus, conquering over the adversity that was seemingly inevitable.
Salute to the carrier of the guidon and all his future challenges.

“The drama’s pitiful
Little niggas is homocidical
Couple meals ago shorty was eating through his umbilical
Now he feel he unkillable
Shit is all amazing
The wrong altercation, will leave his ass with a long abrasion
I try to make my life the focal through rhymes
These niggas do vocal booth crimes
I shot niggas multiple times
You sold a few dimes, but when you’re rapping you’re the crack king
I sold it to Whites when you thought it was just a Black thing
I’m filled with this realness, rappers happen to lack it
I flabbergasted you got a platinum plaque for that wack shit
All the real gangstas they on their way to being dead or in jail
They don’t make records to sell…”
Saigon from “Oh Yeah (Our Babies)” (Prod. By Buckwild) from the album The Greatest Story Never Told.
One of the greatest parts of growing up is your intiution is heightened as a result of your natural experiences. Saigon is quick to tell you he wasn’t always on the path of righteousness but his mistakes in the past enabled him to become a teacher to his seeds and their friend’s friends as well. Not every knucklehead gets to take their lumps and learn from them to live another day. Saigiddy is a survivor so he’s using his platform for the greater good of tomorrow’s free world. You gotta respect it.
