Scarface has issued his first public statement since his widely publicized arrest weeks ago at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. The rapper was taken into police custody shortly after receiving a lifetime achievement award, over alleged child support issues. After finally being released last Friday, Face told All Hip-Hop that there was “misinformation” surrounding his arrest but asked for privacy while he works to straighten things out.
“First and foremost I would like to thank my supporters for their concern during my recent arrest in Atlanta. While we have resolved the issue I would like to correct some misinformation,” the rapper told AllHipHop. “The amount reported that was owed is inaccurate and I had no knowledge about there being an arrest order for me as I have traveled to Atlanta many times; with the latest trip being in September to perform at the One Music Festival. Due to the nature of the case (having a minor child involved), I will make no further comment at this time.”
Scarface’s bond was set at $482,190 and there is no word on when he’s set to appear back in court. He’s had child support troubles that have landed him in jail before. Let’s hope that this latest incident is one that can be sorted out without him having to go lay down for an extended time again.
