Most of the time, you know what you’re going to get from Sean Price. Bars will be spit aggressively, school buses will be punched through with no thought of the orphans inside, and it will all happen to a stripped-down, no-nonsense beat. On his EP with Australian producer M-Phazes, Land Of The Crooks, Sean P switches up at least one part of the formula, and blends his raw rhymes with musicality and an expanded musical palette. While, to long-time fans like myself, it may be a bit jarring to hear P over the Dr. Dre-esque “Bag Of Shit,” I bet you felt the same way when you heard It Was Written. Sometimes different is good, and this is one of those times.

Standout Songs: “Bag Of Shit,” “Murdah Type Thinkin'(Small Professor Remix)”
