Oooh buddy. You know what pisses racists off more than dominating them at a sport they feel is their born right to rule? Making them think they’d rid themselves of you only to have you come back and dominate the sport again.
Tiger Woods has spent 2013 playing as well as he ever has while being treated worse than ever before. And the sourpuss leading the charge is none other than Mr. Taza De Lata himself, Sergio Garcia. Watching Serg totally blow the 17th and 18th holes a couple of weeks ago after complaining about Tiger interrupting his stroke was a thing of beauty. If his meltdown were in the new Great Gatsby movie, the word Schadenfreude would fly across the screen as he whiffed.
Now, Garcia is turning his swag on 100 by doubling down on how much he hates Tiger, this time with a little good old-fashioned racism. When talking about hanging out with El Tigre, Sergio had this to say:
“Sergio Garcia was in a joking mood at the European Tour awards dinner Tuesday night in England, where he shared the stage with Luke Donald and Nicolas Colsaerts, then later made a controversial remark about Tiger Woods.
‘We’ll have him round every night,” Garcia said, according to The Guardian, a British newspaper. ‘We will serve fried chicken.'” [ESPN]
Sore loser? Or the sorest loser? You decide.
On Wednesday morning, Tiger briefly addressed the situation via Twitter in a series of tweets, stating “The comment that was made wasn’t silly. It was wrong, hurtful and clearly inappropriate…I’m confident that there is real regret that the remark was made. The Players ended nearly two weeks ago and it’s long past time to move on and talk about golf.”
