A few weeks after we introduced our smoked out brethren to the grimy sounds of North London’s Skepta, he returns again with some banging visuals for the booming “Shutdown” record. As the street single from his new album KONNICHIWA, the international MC puts on heavily for his ends with a simple but effective walk through his block.

It’s always dope to see an artist maintain the ethos that originally propelled them. With the newly found attention from artists like Drake and Kanye on his movement, it’s only right that Skepta kept his London-first campaign on front street. After hearing the tune in clubs all over the UK, the movement obviously is a force to be reckoned with and, when the album drops, we will find out if the British style can crossover into North America. Whether the project connects or not, one thing is for sure – Skepta knows how to get on the mic and “Shutdown” the jam.
