Ahhhh, nostalgia. What would I do without you?
The Steve Nash we see now stands on the tail end of his career facing one of the most question mark-filled Lakers’ seasons ever. The Steve Nash of 19 years ago appeared on Canadian channel MuchMusic’s Rap City with his national team members Kory Hallas and Keith Vassell. Quite the trip down memory lane before Nash was one of the NBA’s most pure snipers, single-handedly made Amar’e’s Stoudemire’s career dominant, suffer through the weirdest stretch of bad luck for one of the genuine good guys of the league and an all-time great point guard.
Here, the then-Santa Clara floor general shows off his handles – almost identical to that Bridgestone commercial he did with Tim Duncan – and shoots off a request for a certain song from the artist he’s pictured above with.
And to add some sort of Canadian perspective, at the time this was shot in 1994, Justin Bieber was eating soft food (and not yet learned about the magical world of weed), Drake was likely a huge Ninja Turtles fan (while dubbing Jodeci tapes with his pops) and Andrew Wiggins wasn’t even born yet.
