“…To pray every Sunday.”
Premo could let babies gurgle on his tracks & still win. Never thought I’d see the day when he’d be sampling Jeezy but stranger things have happened.
If you weren’t around during the “Golden Era of Hip-Hop” (aka 1994), this is what a lot of it sounded like, at least from the production standpoint. Piano and/or horn samples, scratched in chorus & uptempo bangin on the beat.
And of course a dose of lyrical ability. But, Joey does manage to hold his own here.
Yet, it’s kind of disheartening to hear that Premo currently has zero tracks on Nigger. He’s one of the few producers that manages to makes beats up to par enough to make Esco sound relevant for a complete album.
