‘Nacirema’ Nightmare: The Most Struggtastic Bars From Papoose’s ‘The Nacirema Dream’

It’s been about a decade since your friendly neighborhood blogger was a Papoose fan. It’s also been just about that long since people anticipated his debut album, The Nacirema Dream. Somewhere along the line, Papoose went from would-be heir to the NYC throne to the poster child of struggle bars. The transformation has been uncanny. Was he always a purveyor of struggle and we just didn’t notice? Or did his talent deteriorate? Who knows, but his album was a good opportunity to prove the doubters wrong.

Instead, Pap proved everyone right. The Nacirema Dream is a poorly-executed album (just check the lazily composed hook from “Aim Shoot” or the hook to “Pimpin’ Won’t Die) chock-full of struggle bars. Yours truly listened to the album and composed the worst struggle bars from the album. I did that so hopefully you wouldn’t have to go through that.
