The biggest scoreline of today’s English Premier League action came, surprisingly, from England’s south coast, as Southampton snatched Sunderland’s chain and then curb-stomped it. The final scoreline in the match was 8-0.

There’s nothing respectable about losing 8-0, but Sunderland could’ve avoided total, apocalyptic embarrassment–like, maybe Southampton just clicked in a Platonic Ideal way. Southampton didn’t. Sunderland sh*t the bed, as the below Vine shows.

This might be the worst own goal of the season, perhaps of all time. Sunderland’s Argentine defender Santiago Vergini attempts the clearance and just… oh dear. Golazo.

For comparison’s sake, this is how bad today’s loss was:

Yeesh. To the surprise of no one, Sunderland sits near the foot of the EPL table.
