Behind nearly every great producer usually lies a team of hungry, lesser known names grinding at every waking second to become household commodities similar to their famous prophyte. For Polow Da Don, his team goes by the name of Surf Club. After establishing a buzz earlier this year with Lil Wayne, the group, consisting of Chase N. Cashe, Hit Boy, Chili Chil and B. Carr, have been hard at work in the studio working with the likes of Rich Boy, Robin Thicke, The Game and Diddy for his Last Train To Paris album. To further bolster their resume’, Hit Boy is even responsible for the production of Mary J. Blige’s new record, “Stronger“.
However, aside from assisting others, S.C. have been crafting material for their own release set to drop later this year. The first leak, “The Wood”, is tailor made for the closing moments of a party with an infectious, yet soothing beat coupled with a catchy chorus. Clocking in at just over five minutes, that should be more than enough time to get your point across and not leave the party alone.
