“Still ride with that 4-4/Don’t let my P.O. know…”
I’m biased. As one of my personal favorite MC’s of all time, seeing Tip drop one more dope album then fade off into the pastures of fatherhood and marriage would make me proud. I want to see Clifford win. With “Go Get It,” Grand Hustle’s HNIC finds himself with what appears to be his most effective single since Paper Trail served as his swan song before heading to the big house in 2009.
Featuring the flow which made him a trapping multi-millionaire in the mid-to-late-2000’s, Trouble Man’s single showcases a visual that sees Tip straddle the lines of massive success and humble beginnings so well his new nickname could possible be Houdini. Nonetheless, this “felt” more like a T.I. song than those of recent yesteryears thanks in part to the effortless boasting and bravado and an instrumental bouncy enough to compliment his flow handcrafted by T-Minus. Again, I’m pulling for the guy. His own personal demons be damned.
