The first thing that will jump to mind during one play of “Brother Man” is “wow, that guy sounds a lot like Chance The Rapper.” As Taylor Bennett should as they’re brothers. Let’s assume he was around during his older brother’s 10-Day suspension and watched Acid Rap take shape firsthand. With those influences around, it’s hard to have them rub off on you. As time and rhymes go by, I’m sure the younger Bennett will grow out from out under his brother’s shadow sort of how Willie The Kid, for example, emerged through the same door as La before creating his own space.
With all that in mind, you can listen to “Brother Man” and imagine it’s Chance rapping instead or simply enjoy the fact that he and Taylor share similarities and God blessed us with two Bennetts to enjoy.
Taylor’s Mainstream Music is coming soon.
