It was only 18 days ago when Mike Brown was shot and killed in the middle of a street by Ferguson, MO police officer Darren Wilson. In the short time since, Brown’s hometown has been completely flipped on it’s head in turmoil and the racial undertones lining the whole situation have drawn national media coverage and allowed everyone and their mother to voice an opinion about the young man’s legacy – whether justified or not.
Amidst the outpouring of angst, numerous rappers offered their two cents on the situation, ranging from passionate to aggressive. Well, thanks to Game’s ring-leading abilities, we now have our official #RIPMikeBrown posse cut.
Featuring half the damn industry, “Don’t Shoot” is a bottom-heavy track that offers numerous perspectives on the tragedy and collectively covers quite a bit of ground on the topic. In all actuality, the only bad thing about this titanic tribute is Puffy’s verse, which sounds like it was written by Game and rapped by a five-year-old.
