The Week That Was: If You Blinked, You Missed It

In another fast-paced week here @ TSS, we (hopefully) lived up to our top ranking status by covering most of the bases of all things involving the culture.

While Kanye was Storytelling, Ghost & Rae made separate appearances, each dropping a new track. Another Wu-Gambino, Mr. Meth, also had a new offering, joined by his buddah brother Redman. Joell Ortiz began to cover the classics and was in on a new Slaughterhouse track. His compadre Crooked I ducked shots & lived to tell about it. Charles Hamilton et al dropped their usual rounds of mixtapes, Loosies…and C.Ham did battle with a fan.

K’naan got favorably reviewed, but if you copped Havoc’s or E.S.G.’s albums, you got screwed (in our opinion of course).

If you really wanted something to check for though, go back & check Trackstar’s mixes (both of them) & that DV One. Don’t snooze on Melanie Fiona either.

Tom Gist sent a kite to Killa, but TC just got on the phone with King Jaffe & talked to Cam about everything direct. Speaking of the Crew’s Stringer, he set off an e-firestorm by breaking a Keri Hilson track in which she took apparent shots @ some top ranking R&B divas.

Bad Boy got sued & settled, Coolio got caught with a pocketful of stones & Trick Trick spazzed. Much to the jizz in my pants happiness of fans, The Watchmen hit theaters and Eminem received a release date.

I’m still checking to see who’s keeping their “best of ’09” list. I’m still supporting firearms. I’m still buying kicks you don’t like. I’m still saying we’re one of the best doing it because we bring you something different every day.

This week’s best comment by far?

“Did this nigga just write a love letter in the comment section??” — Big Rome

The post with the most comments?

The one about what to put into a twelve disc CD changer, which ulitmately turned into a debate over Jay-Z’s discography…which carried over into a whole ‘nother post.

This week’s biggest announcement?

See you there.
