Who would’ve predicted that my favorite sexual deviant would end up a bonafide pop star four years after folks thought The Weeknd was some sort of band? The once painfully shy man of mystery now has a legitimate reason to overdose since HitsDailyDouble is predicting huge numbers for his sophomore album, Beauty Behind The Madness.
While his debut studio album Kiss Land flopped out the gate, selling an abysmal 90,000 its first week, Abel’s latest effort is on pace to sell upwards of 350,000 (380,000 with streaming) copies its debut week. And because the 25-year-old “Queen Street n*gga” resurrected the ghost of Michael Joseph Jackson at the VMAs with a performance of “Can’t Feel My Face,” it’s possible BBTM may experience a post-show surge in sales.
Whether that happens or not, BBTM is still shaping up to be the second biggest release of the year, after Drake’s If You’re Reading This…, and Abel could land his first No. 1 album ever. Yay, lines for everyone!
