Remember a couple of seasons ago when LeBron was hawking down cats and pulling off what quickly named as “chasedown blocks”? He would beat it down court and get their just in the nick of time to swat an opposing players shot from behind, nullifying what should have been an easy basket.
Well, Thomas Robinson may have one-upped Bron Bron with the chase-down-then-get-in-front-of monster block against Corey Brewer and the Timberwolves in Sunday night’s NBA action. The NBA YouTube is very judicious in their use of titles for videos so when they labeled this one “Block of the Year!?!?,” it was worth sharing at the least. In fact, they hardly ever spotlight defensive plays so that alone made it worth watching.
Whether or not Robinson wins the imaginary trophy or not, there’s no denying he’s a bad bad man for this play. The Blazers ended up winning the game, 108-97.
