As of late, TiRon and Ayomari’s music has started to bring up some Pharcyde comparisons to me. Like the ’90s group before them, these two represent an alternative sound to what we traditionally known as West Coast Rap. On records like “No Filter” (and the entire ASFP) the duo isn’t afraid to tackle the often tabooed topics of love and relationships from a far more realistic perspective than virtually everyone else.
This song picks up right where ASFP and HNGRY left off. The smooth production comes courtesy of fellow Cafeteria Line producer SiR and the emcees, especially Ayomari sounds like he’s made some strides with a sharper flow and tighter raps than we’re used to hearing. Ronnie and Ayo’s upcoming project, The Great New Wonderful is set to be released later this spring. Count me in to scratch the days off my calendar until then.
