‘Trailer Park Boys 3’ Has A New Trailer. Here’s Why You Should Care

Fans of irreverent stoner humor, let’s all hold hands.

After what seems like years, we now have an update in the Trailer Park Boys saga: Don’t Legalize It, the third feature film of the series. From the looks of it, the film surrounds the boys’ efforts to stop the legalization of weed in Canada, in an effort to keep their own, illegal crops valuable commodities.

I’ve never had the opportunity to write about the glory that is TPB before – the cult classic Canadian comedy (ALL THE ALLITERATION) became a go-to show for me, like so many others, through word of mouth and Netflix. For those unaware of the phenomenon, the series spanned seven seasons on Showcase, a premier Canadian cable channel. It also inspired two feature films. I’m not sure if it’s ever been syndicated for an American audience, but, as previously stated, Netflix did its job of introducing the series to the masses.

The premise of the show is simple: three childhood buddies, born and raised in a Nova Scotian trailer park, hatch a bunch of get-rich-quick schemes that usually (always) involve weed and alcohol. It resides in the same “every character on this show is an awful person” camp created by Seinfeld and carried on in It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, but the Boys vibe is definitely unique.

Part of that stems from the “mocumentary” filming style, and part of that probably has to do with the actual motives behind the characters. Whereas Seinfeld and Always Sunny always operated behind a wink-wink, nudge-nudge, we-know-we’re-awful-human-beings veil, there is nothing self-aware about Trailer Park. The protagonists (and their foils) are just ignorant, rotten people, in the best possible way.

Feel free to chime in on your favorite moments. I’m genuinely curious to see how hip the TSS community is to Trailer Park Boys.
