In a weird way, Ty Dolla $ign’s Beach House EP sounds sounds crispier in June than it did in January. The reason being largely stems behind the uptick in temperature and all things associated with the summer. But fact remains the project quietly paces itself as one of the more replay-worthy compilations of the calendar year.*
Nevertheless, TD$ finds himself in a real life Helga-Arnold dynamic from Hey Arnold with one of the ladies from his “Or Nah (Remix)” visual becoming so overly obsessed with the West Coast crooner she pieces together a shrine in his honor. Wiz Khalifa joins the DJ Mustard-produced fun, as does The Weeknd, whose verse has long-since stole the show and may or may not make Lisa Ann blush.
Dolla’s used 2014 to make himself a recognizable “new” name in music, which is all well and dandy. The lone request now stands that his Sign Language mixtape finds its way onto the friendly confines of the Internet at some point between now and Labor Day. And the Free TC album before the year closes out.
* – Personally speaking, of course, since the project only earned 3 Cigs.
