As much as rappers love to rep their hood, the fact of the matter is most work to move “Out The Ghetto” and into more accommodable surroundings. Such is the theme behind Detroit native Ty Farris’ latest cut, which comes from his upcoming Tyrant project and is hauntingly unoptimistic. Actually, it appears Farris is reaching back to his reckless childhood years here, over producer Dom’s diabolical Mary J. Blige flip, which gives the track a nice throwback feel and lets Ty effectively use his tight wordplay to paint a gloomy picture of days past.
