We The Best Music Group/Cash Money Records/Republic Records gave Vado a video budget for the Jeremih-assisted “My Bae” track. This is the result.
I can imagine there is nothing worst than spending your youth rapping and not going anywhere until six years have passed and you look up like wtf
I’m a believer that this is Cam’s fault. It’s not like Vado ain’t have buzz, it just wasn’t utilized well at all. Another unfortunate victim to NYC hip-hop.
@athrin naaaaa don’t put that on cam. Cam built vado buzz up, made me a fan. They was putting out consistent heat for a few yrs. But when dj Khaled stepped in and signed him, the buzz went cold. It was great when it was a Harlem thing but that died when he went to Khaled.
I think camrons role is like nba d-league or triple a baseball, All he did was get vado hot so they could both get paid when he signs a deal with the highest bidder. I thought that was the plan and vado was on board with that. But when u get to the majors your on your own.
@County of Kings Vato was cold even before he signed to Khaled.
Vato went cold around the time when there were rumours of a Dipset reunion in ’11. Then you didn’t hear from him for awhile, he dropped Slime Flu 2 after constant delay and was pretty much forgotten after that until he got signed by Khaled.
@Stay Frosty, your right about that, the dipset reunion did push him off his spot. Ppl were like ” is vado dipset or U.N. or what now?” I thought jimmy n them sabotaged that kids wave on some salty shit lol
The title alone makes me not wanna listen. Damn, when Vado was droppin tracks like “Fed Story” and “Large On The Streets” I really thought he was next…
Next for what bro? That mafioso stuff is for dudes with priors no female can get jiggy to that shit the art of songwriting is a lost one the days of a nigga spitting his shit and then getting a corny r&b hook are so gone you probably don’t remember them cam did a masterful job of raising awareness regarding vado whatever happened after who knows
This is a dope record for Vado. It wasn’t Cam’s fault Vado did go on a 1 to 2 year drought, it was his own and he even admitted it. Cam got him a deal at Interscope. The deal went sour and Vado admitted that for a year he kinda just sat not knowing what to do. Khaled came knocking and it made sense for Vado to move on from Cam. He got a bigger budget, more connections and Slime 4 did over 400k in downloads, his most to date. I think songs like this help to keep him relevant.
Vado needed some help making mainstream hits. Khaled should help that cause. He just needs to find the balance between making authentic street shit. Like back when he was rolling wit Killa.
All that fake Mafioso/Goodfellas type songs? Dem days is over.
Sorry but Vado has always been a super generic Harlem rapper that rhymes 2 words. Never been anything special.
jeremih is my nigga but he needs to put out that EP with SHLOHMO!!! the e-streets fiending for that. lol
Jeremih and Bobby V. Like the king and prince of non-sangin-ass singers. Like, they can’t sing but they be singin. And the womens be lovin it.
