Vancouver Canucks Fans Spark A Riot For The Ages

Candidate for Photo of the Year
Hockey has never been my cup of tea, and for all intents and purposes, probably never will. Still, attending one live is on my bucket list because friends tell me it is the greatest sport in the world to watch completely DeShawn Stevenson’d (that’s drunk in public, for the record). Last night, the Vancouver Canucks lost the Stanley Cup Finals to the Boston Bruins in the always gut wrenching Game 7.
What happened next was all holy hell breaking loose in the city that formerly housed Bryant “Big Country” Reeves. The following photos, courtesy of the National Post, depict the emotional torture of a metropolis and their instant reaction toward sports biggest heartbreak. No word on their blood-alcohol count though. Consider the slideshow a glimpse into the Watts Riots of the NHL. Or better yet, that ignorance knows no color. I’d like to think Barry Melrose is somewhere combing his beard-mullet in approval.
