The Vans Eras are everywhere. From skaters to surfers to hipsters to hip hop heads, Eras garner respect with even the snobbiest of sneakerheads. And now there’s a version for living the high life while maintaining the Miller High Life budget. Which would make the Vans Era ‘Khaki Snakeskins’ the champagne of sneakers? Hell, I don’t know. What I do know is that this recent release from Vans toes the line of both simple and flashy.
Are they general releases? Do they look high priced enough to be a part of Swaggy P’s stolen goods? Are they priced right? Yes to all of the above.
For years Vans has been a brand known making quality kicks that look expensive but hitting the sweet spot of a price range that even non-sneaker snobs would willingly cop. Definitely a lost art. Another underrated aspect of most of Vans Classics’ releases are leather sockliner. A little bit of leather goes a long way in making a shoe look good. And with this release, there’s no signs of changing the formula for success.
