In the grand scheme which is the 2011-2012 NBA season, Avery Bradley’s flush over potential league MVP Kevin Durant will result in nothing more than a minor footnote. As it should. That being said, give props to Avery where it’s due for not punking out and attempting some unorthodox reverse layup upon seeing the nearly seven foot gazelle that is K.D. sprinting towards him. Also, give some credit to Bradley for playing respectable ball while Rajon Rondo serves his two game suspension for throwing the ball at a ref.
The Thunder eventually upended the Celtics 119-104 with Durant posting 28-9-6-4 despite 9-22 shooting compared to Bradley’s 12-5-3. So yes, K.D. won the war, but thanks to the Internet’s elephant-like memory, the Bradley family can relive this moment for years to come.
