Rochelle personally sent this trailer for her new project, P R E S S U R E, so whether she knows it or not, we’re a happy couple now. After using 2011 as a stepping stone, 2012 is hopefully the year more widespread acclaim presents itself for the Toronto songbird. I’m of the belief Miss Jordan harbors one of the better voices to emerge in quite some time with an underrated aspect being the team behind her. The vibe I’ve gotten from her, KLSH and the rest of the camp is that everything completed over there is done organically with a family-like vibe.
We’ve seen it time and time again. When the team is right, it shows in the music.
Bonus: Speaking to the complexity and raw simplicity that goes with a one night stand, Wingate and Rojo explain both sides of the coin on “Just For The Night.” The Reverie-produced record has the feel of song that’s meant to be played during the wee hours of a weekend morning, after hours of drinking while preparing to lay down with a person whose last name you’ll never know or care to know. Expect to find this on the Portland emcee’s All To Well slated to drop in August.
