Young Roddy The Kenner Loop

Haze, piff, cheeba, fire, loud – whatever you want to call it, Young Roddy’s debut album The Kenner Loop is pure dope. After riding along as co-pilot beside the big homey Spitta for the last few years, the nasally voiced MC finally delivers a full length and he made sure to bring a hundred jars of flavor to the table.

Smoking out studios with an all star stoner cast like Styles P, Smoke Dza and Dave East, the young boy holds his own on hooks and verses while shining with the OGs of the hotbox. Obviously, Roddy wouldn’t let the opportunity pass to bring his longtime smoke pals along so the Jet Life crew makes their presence felt with verses from Cornerboy P, LE$ and, of course, Trademark. A definite standout is the Curren$y feature on “My Business” where the tumbling drums keep both stoners on point with their verses.

With just 14 tracks, there’s a whole lot of ash flicking, bad b*tch-smashing and slab rolling to soak up in a short period of time. Given Roddy’s unique perspective on life, his penchant for picking soulful beats that smack like blue magic and a Rolodex that reflects his years of touring with Spitta, we advise listeners to pour up a pitcher of H2O, crack open that mason jar and start filling your cuticles with THC crystals while this one spins back to back.
