Young Thug’s Releasing A New Mixtape Called ‘Tha Carter V’

Lil Wayne is not going to like this. At all.

It’s bad enough that Young Thug managed to release Barter 6 before Weezy could get Tha Carter V into stores. Now, Thug’s trying to one up himself.

Thugger sat down for an interview with No Days Off Radio and revealed that not only does he plan on dropping another mixtape before his official debut album drops in August, but he’s also going to call it Tha Carter V.

“I’m gonna drop one more mixtape before my album. The album is called Hy!£UN35. I’m gonna drop one more mixtape. I’ll probably name it Carter V, because the original Carter V still ain’t came out. I don’t know what the f*ck they’re doing, slow poking. So I’m gonna put that motherf*cker out for him.”

Thug allegedly got sued when he tried to call his last mixtape Tha Carter 6, so I’d imagine Wayne and his lawyers will put a stop to this at some point. The worst part about it is it’s a near certainty that Thug gets this mixtape out before the actual Carter V.

Thugger also spoke a bit about his label situation and management deal, or lack thereof, with Rich Gang and Birdman.

“Nah, I manage myself. Nobody brung me here, so nobody can take me there. I manage myself. I’m signed with Atlantic. A big special deal with Atlantic and it’s going to take us around the world. And it’s only Atlantic. Birdman is my homie.”

This is contrary to what had been reported by Buzzfeed last year which claimed Thug has a joint venture with 300 and several labels including Gucci Mane’s 1017 Brick Squad. It also goes against reports that there was some sort of agreement with Birdman and Rich Gang, meaning Thug’s new declaration of independence could serve as one of the first signs of a break between Thug and Wayne’s “dad” as he looks to breakout solo. Could be nothing, could be everything. Only time will tell.

Thug also discusses his relationship with Travi$ Scott, his Hooters sponsorship and even gives some face time to his finance. Check out the entire interview below.
