Week 6’s headliner saw undefeated New Orleans and New York meet up in the Superdome to determine NFC supremacy. The Saints made it a rout as Drew Brees laughed in the faces of New York’s vaunted pass rush, leading New Orleans to 34 first half points. Gotty™ called shenanigans on the Saints, claiming they’ll blow it in December. Yet if they can secure home field advantage, it’ll be mighty hard for a team to win a playoff game in the NO. For now Brees, Marques Colston and company can relax with some bourbon and beignets as alpha dogs in the conference.

The Minnesota-Ravens game came down to the wire with young pup Joe Flacco leading his team to a wild comeback in the 4th quarter when Minny’s D ran out of gas. Unfortunately for Ravens fans, kicker Steven Hauschka missed a potential game winner as time expired. Looks like Ray Lewis is going to have to add to the body count. The Ravens now sit at a disappointing 3-3.

Other Happenings This Sunday

— In what was undoubtedly the worst played game of the week, the Bills and Jets traded turnovers before Buffalo finally put the Jersey faithful out of their misery in overtime to secure a 16-13 win. Not a good day for The Sanchize who managed 119 passing yards with 5 picks in a game that had New Yorkers pining for the glory days of Vinny Testaverde.

— Cincinnati exposed themselves as frauds. Great teams don’t lose to Houston at home.

— Arizona smacked around the Seahawks in Seattle to suggest they may be able to break the Super Bowl loser’s curse.

— Philadelphia exemplified again why fans get so frustrated with Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb. Great teams shouldn’t lose to the Raiders. Actually, no team should lose to the Raiders.

— Except maybe the Redskins. After all they’ve already lost to the Lions and the Chiefs. Luckily for Oakland, they play December 13. Clear your calendars! Jim Zorn should start polishing his resume.

— Doubtful many watched the Tampa-Carolina game, but those that did saw this brutal cheap shot by Panther Dante Wesley. That’s assault brother.

59-0. Sorry Gotty™ it hurt me almost as much as it hurt you.
