In celebration of the Marine Corps birthday, all posts today will have a decided military flavor.
It's not often that I'll recap NBA games, but I wanted to tip my cap to the NOOCH, who finally lost a game despite
C3PO CP3's 34 points and 10 assists. Chris Paul is likable.
In other NBA news, everybody's getting one last shot at LeBron about staying on the court, but the real news about the Cavs' win over the Bulls is Sasha Pavlovic, who scored 16 points in a season-high 25 minutes. Yeah, that's right, Sasha Pavlovic. Take a look at him from last year. Kinda douchey, right? Now take a look at this year's badass.
There's something tough and no-nonsense about the shaved head. Most of my compatriots did it in Kuwait and Iraq, just because it was easy to maintain and more hygienic. Hey, speaking of Iraq, that reminds me of my classmate from the Basic School, Brian Chontosh. He won the Navy Cross:
He… directed his driver into the enemy trench, where he exited his vehicle and began to clear the trench with an M16A2 service rifle and 9 millimeter pistol. His ammunition depleted, First Lieutenant Chontosh, with complete disregard for his safety, twice picked up discarded enemy rifles and continued his ferocious attack. When a Marine following him found an enemy rocket propelled grenade launcher, First Lieutenant Chontosh used it to destroy yet another group of enemy soldiers. When his audacious attack ended, he had cleared over 200 meters of the enemy trench, killing more than 20 enemy soldiers and wounding several others.
But about that Chris Paul… He's good at basketball, no?
I want more like this!
