I know that I spew a lot of hate and discontent, but with the NFL season coming to a close and the baseball season still months away, there's a lot of joy to be had watching the NBA.
Yeah, that's right: I'm a softie for the long-awaited on-court unification of Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony, who combined for 51 points and 13 assists as the Nuggets trounced the Grizzlies 115-98 last night. How can you not pull for A.I.? Read this quote:
"That's what it's all about. It's about the kids, and about the fans that love the game and the excitement of the greatest game in the world. I'm enjoying myself. I know it's my 11th season, but this is a fresh start for me, and it feels like my first. I am having a great time and I love my situation here."
Kinda makes me want to look at the two of them and say, "Man, I am SO happy for you guys. I just knew you'd be great together." But, like, in a way that isn't quite so gay.
