Last season, University of Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr used clips of Cinderella Man to inspire the Wolverines (it's unclear if the clips were used before UM's loss to Ohio State). For whatever reason, that sparked a friendship between Carr and the film's star, notorious cheerleader-firing dickhead Russell Crowe.
[T]he actor invited the Michigan coach Down Under to size up his team, the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Apparently Carr took Crowe up on his word and spent the past week in Australia watching the Rabbitohs in action. Owned by Crowe, the Australian professional rugby team impressed Carr, according to a story in a Sydney newspaper.
The Rabbitohs impressed Carr? What'd they do, win a high-stakes game sometime in the last five years?
