Entrance music is one of my favorite details of baseball games. The last time I went to Yankee Stadium, two things kept happening: Every time A-Rod came up, I'd hear "This Is Why I'm Hot." (And indeed, he's hot because he's fly, and — let's face it — you ain't 'cause you're not. The logic is infallible.) That song would stay in my head until
Percy Bysshe Shelley Long Duncan came to the plate, mercifully relieving me of the earworm with the badass feedback on the opening riff of the White Stripes' "Icky Thump." Four batters later: "This Is Why I'm Hot." Lather, rinse, repeat.
And now, God bless it, Wikipedia has the full list of the songs used by MLB players before they step on the mound or into the box. It is amazingly thorough and thoroughly amazing. Since SPORTSbyBROOKS and Throwbot have already highlighted their favorites, and since Kissing Suzy Kolber has already covered which song YOU want as your entrance music (my choice: opening riff of "How Soon is Now?" by the Smiths), I thought I'd open up the comments for your thoughts on what songs are most appropriate for which players.
Example — A-Rod: "Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed. Have at it, beautiful people.
