The Knicks lost to the Suns 113-102 last night, but WAY more importantly, Stephon Marbury left the Knicks and thrust the team into turmoil. Which is terrible. I totally took the over at 6.5 games for "Knicks thrust into turmoil." Citing a source "close to the team," the New York Daily News has the details:
Upon hearing [from Eddy Curry] that he would back up second-year guard Mardy Collins, Marbury marched toward the front of the plane to meet with [Isiah] Thomas. Five minutes later, an enraged Marbury told his teammates that if he wasn't starting he wouldn't suit up for the game. But it was something else Marbury said that stunned his teammates…
"Isiah has to start me," Marbury fumed, according to the source. "I've got so much (stuff) on Isiah and he knows it. He thinks he can (get) me. But I'll (get) him first. You have no idea what I know."
Oh. My. GOD this is awesome! Isiah and the Knicks lost a sexual harassment case in which the not-exactly-sane Marbury was a witness (and intern-truck-sex participant), and now Isiah benches the crazy star. This is gonna get uglier than Rachel Nichols. I totally can't wait. This is like Christmas Eve and the anticipation for my first hooker all wrapped up in one. Of course, I got my first hooker on Christmas, so I guess that's a little redundant. She stayed for egg nog. Nice girl. Wonder if her parents ever found the body.
