Do you want to see a good football game in Miami?
Dan Marino agreed to play in the final sports event at the Orange Bowl — a flag-football game matching former Dolphins against former University of Miami Hurricanes on Jan. 26, according to Mitch Adelstein, president of Fort Lauderdale-based Mounted Memories, a sports memorabilia distributor. Seats will be sold to the public. The auction will be held Feb. 9 and 10 at the OB . . . The Orange Bowl will be demolished in the weeks following the auction.
OK, it's a flag-football game, but it has to be much better than watching the current incarnation of the Dolphins. I wonder what other former Dolphins and Hurricanes will be in attendance? I hope Devin Hester shows up to return a kick-off through a team of '72 Dolphins causing them to snap the tendons in their knees and ankles. Or better yet, they could all have heart attacks while chasing him. Or they could demolish the Orange Bowl during the game! Too far? Yes, too far – the Bears need Devin Hester. Speaking of Dan Marino, make sure to pick up several pairs of Isotoner gloves this holiday season. They make wonderful Christmas gifts. And don't forget about your Uncle Ray in prison. He could buy a day of peace for his O-ring with them. -KD
