Rod Council started 10 of 12 games at cornerback for the Louisville Cardinals last year, but he won't be back for his senior season this fall. Council has been kicked off the team after getting arrested for robbing a convenience store with an Uzi. Sa-WEET!
Council allegedly entered the store about 4:15 a.m. and pulled what looked to be a 9mm Uzi on the clerk, who was the only other person in the store at the time. The suspect demanded all the money and the clerk’s cellular phone and fled the store. The store’s security cameras were able to catch the suspect leaving in a silver Chevrolet Impala.
Police issued a BOLO — “Be On The Lookout” — for the suspect vehicle. A Tennessee State Highway Patrol trooper located the car at a rest area near mile marker 447 on Interstate 40 in Tennessee and detained the suspect until Haywood County [North Carolina] detectives could arrive.
Ah, college. If I had a nickel for every time I was two states away from my dorm room in the pre-dawn hours of a Wednesday when class was in session and robbed a convenience store at gunpoint before fleeing for the state line, why, I could put those nickels in a sock and use it to subdue people while robbing more convenience stores.
