Roberto Pettinato is the host of a show called “A Perfect World” in Argentina, and while I think that title would be more suited for a show about Brazilian models, Pettinato apparently used it as a platform to express his opinions on the 2010 World Cup tournament. While showing his support for the Argentina soccer team, the host showed that he’s a man who stands for two things – animal cruelty and 70-year old German stereotypes.
Discussing his country’s team’s loss to Germany, Pettinato pointed out that world famous psychic and With Leather gambling liaison Paul the Octopus had indeed predicted Germany to win this specific matchup. To show his respect, the host displayed a dead octopus, called him Paul, proclaimed him a Nazi, chopped his head off and pulverized him in a blender. Haha, soccer fans, don’t ever change!
I’ll have the calamari for an appetizer, The Sun:
Argentina fans blamed him for their World Cup exit after he correctly predicted Germany would beat them and some have voiced a desire to eat him.
So after branding the animal a “Nazi” he grabbed an octopus live on air and claimed to be killing it as he hacked its head off and put bits of it in a blender.
Pettinato said as he lowered him into the machine: “Your moment has arrived, little Nazi octopus.”
Understandably, German fans have lashed out at the Argentinian host and the show’s producers, but you have to enjoy the irony of a show called “A Perfect World” invoking Nazi culture. In Argentina. That’s like the pot calling the kettle black and then locking it in a special cabinet with other cookware.
We here at With Leather are lovers of all animals, both furry and cuddly and slimy and covered in tentacles. Sure, the octopus on the following video is dead, but we’re not going to stand for a guy who dresses like Criss Angel pretending to harm our beloved Paul. Anywho, this is still pretty gross for the weak-stomached, so watch accordingly.
Gross, right? To make up for it, BABY BUNNIES!!!
