Amidst all of the ‘will he won’t he’ retirement rumors that we’ve seem to be encumbered with for the past millenia comes a hilariously disgusting story from the Daily Line’s Jenn Sterger via the dick picture hotline that is Deadspin these days. According to Daulerio, when Favre and Sterger were both employees of the New York Jets the old gunslinger got a bit lonely in the big city and started leaving raunchy voicemails and dick pictures for the enjoyment of the big breasted Sterger that she still has safely tucked away inside of her computer.
Sterger claimed she spurned Favre’s advances because he was married, but also because she was working for the Jets at the time she didn’t think it was the best idea to start a torrid affair with the team’s highest profile player (the Jets have not responded to a question about any knowledge of the Favre/Sterger saga at this time). Plus, if she went forward with how aggressive he was and how skeeved out she was to some of her superiors, she suspected she might lose her job. The interactions were flirty and strange but she didn’t think there wasn’t anything that made her too uncomfortable.
But then, one night, Sterger received a picture on her phone which was so shocking that she just tossed it across the room. It was his dick. Brett Favre’s dick. And it happened multiple times. In fact, Sterger claims that, in one of the photos Favre allegedly sent her, he’s masturbating — while wearing a pair of Crocs. In another photo, Favre is holding his penis while wearing the wristwatch he wore during his first teary-eyed retirement press conference. -Deadspin
Unfortunately for Daulerio and the page view rankings for Gawker media, Sterger instructed Daulerio to never share this information with anyone without her permission. That is until today, when Daulerio decided that he’d sat on the story long enough and needed to run the tale even though Sterger explicitily instructed him that the story, which could potentially hurt her blossoming television career, had been told in confidence and should not see the light of day on Deadspin unless he’s given direct permission from Sterger herself that it’s okay. In an email to Sterger he stated this:
I’m very close to running your Favre allegations today. I’ve spoken to the Jets about this. So let me know how you want to proceed, please. I’d prefer you were on the record about this stuff, but I understand if you don’t want to be. However, I do have our email conversations we had and, frankly, that’s enough to get this started.
Not trying to dick you over, but, there was no way I was going to sit on it forever, either.
So lemme know.
Now Daulerio claims that Sterger’s response gave him the okay to run the story, but does an email of, “I can… as soon as I get this thing (her blackberry) back and running.. or you could meet me in person on my way to studio in a few hours” look like a concrete “YES” from Sterger? NO. Daulerio even stated in his post that, “Jenn and I never connected yesterday, either in person or on the phone.” Shouldn’t this be necessary occurence when Sterger earlier stated to A.J. regarding the telling of the Favre story, “AND NOT A WORD OF THAT SHIT TO ANYONE.”? This feels like yet another exercise in poor blogging ethics from Daulerio, who I’ve had clashes with in the past. Should private emails without the approval of the sender be allowed to get disseminated to the public? I sure don’t think so, but who am I? As Deadspin slowly morphs from the quirky place to find an alternate take on sports that Leitch and Chandler created into a caucasian Media Take Out , this is to be expected, right? I guess the moral of the story is, don’t email or tell Daulerio incriminating information unless you want it unfurled to the masses. Deadspin commenter ‘Scribbler03′ said it best:
Believe the moral of this story is, never tell AJ anything, even if it’s just a funny aside in confidence, unless you want him to eventually strong-arm you into using it and potentially ruining your career.
