UFC 161 Quick Results: Roy Nelson Forgot To Show Up

I’ll have more news from the backlash and aftermath of Saturday night’s UFC 161 Pay-Per-View in Winnipeg, Manitoba later in the day, but for right now, here are the quick and depressing quick results for the fights that you missed in case you were too cool to join us for the live discussion..

Main Events

Rashad Evans def. Dan Henderson (Split decision) – At the very least, Henderson never fights for a title again. At worst, he’s fired. But at least he went out with an impressive display. You know, unlike…

Stipe Miocic def. Roy Nelson (Unanimous decision) – I wrote that there was a chance we were all sleeping on Stipe Miocic – and maybe by “we” and “all”, I meant Nelson fanboys like me – and it certainly turned out that Nelson was the one doing most of the sleeping. In the meantime, my guess is he ends up pulling a George Costanza and showing up at Dana White’s apartment while he’s having dinner with an attractive model, and begs for the original extension offer. When White says no, Nelson will start backtracking until he’s annoyed White enough, and then he’ll tell him, “You’ve made Jerry very happy.”

And since I can’t find the clip of that episode, you’ll have to settle for the best of George Costanza.
