Nothing at With Leather inspires us or causes us to blame deep, sobby tears on allergies quite like sick kids getting a moment in the sports-related sun. Whether it’s the ongoing awesomeness of 7-year old cancer patient Jack Hoffman and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan letting a kid tap him out to his own submission move, or the 12-year old Ohio State fan who beat cancer by calling it Michigan, we’ve done our share of not crying this year.
Here comes a few more not tears.
The Boston Red Sox invited 4-year old Darla Holloway to sing ‘God Bless America’ during Tuesday night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, as part of their annual The Jimmy Fund telethon. Darla suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia. That doesn’t stop her from nailing the song, which she reportedly practiced “every day for a few weeks.”
I know. I know.
Here’s the clip. Get some tissues ready.
Thanks for inspiring me and making me emotionally unstable for the rest of the day, The Nosebleeds.
