– The show began with Hell in a Cell special guest referee Shawn Michaels declaring that he’ll be impartial during his ref duties. Randy Orton came to the ring and tried to intimidate Michaels, and the two exchanged finisher attempts before the situation diffused.
1. Randy Orton defeated The Miz. Orton won with an RKO after The Wyatt Family appeared on the stage and distracted The Miz.
2. Fandango defeated Santino Marella. Fandango won by roll-up after Summer Rae distracted Santino.
3. Los Matadores defeated 3MB. The same match they’ve done several times now. Los Matadores won with their double-team Samoan drop.
– Triple H addressed The Big Show knocking him out at the end of last week’s main-event, declaring that he would be the villain everyone assumes he is. Daniel Bryan tried to interrupt but was attacked by his opponent for the night, Alberto Del Rio.
4. Ryback defeated R-Truth. Ryback won with Shell Shocked. This was the first of two “beat the clock” matches with the stipulation that whoever won their match faster (Ryback vs. Truth, CM Punk vs. Curtis Axel) would be able to choose the match stipulation for the Punk/Ryback rematch at Hell in a Cell.
5. The Real Americans defeated Tons Of Funk. Antonio Cesaro won the match for his team after a Neutralizer on Brodus Clay. After the match, Cesaro gave Tensai a giant swing.
6. Tamina Snuka defeated Brie Bella. Tamina won after a big boot. After the match, Tamina splashed Brie and invited AJ Lee into the ring to put Brie into the Black Widow.
7. CM Punk defeated Curtis Axel. Punk won with a Go To Sleep. He finished 11 seconds quicker than Ryback and made the match at Hell in a Cell a handicap match: CM Punk vs. Ryback and Paul Heyman.
8. Alberto Del Rio defeated Daniel Bryan. Del Rio won by countout when Randy Orton appeared on the Titantron, threatening to attack Brie Bella. Bryan left the match to tend to her, but when he got there Orton was nowhere to be found. That set him up for a brief sneak attack from Orton.
9. Cody Rhodes and Goldust defeated Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. This was a no-disqualification match. Dean Ambrose interfered for The Shield throughout the match. Big Show made an entrance from the crowd late in the match and knocked out Roman Reigns, giving Cody the pinfall victory and the title. The show went off the air with an irate Triple H fuming in the ring as Big Show celebrated in the crowd.
