Kobayashi Took On Portland State’s Cheerleaders In A Wiener Eating Contest

Two weeks ago, the Kansas State University women’s basketball team raised the bar for promotional events when they offered every student or fan that attended a game their very own basket of bacon. Well, the Portland State Vikings men’s basketball team offered a hearty “Big whoop” to that generous promotion and announced that not only can fans at PSU purchase season tickets at an affordable price, but they can also get unlimited food from the concessions stands as well.

Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Burnsy, this is insane! There’s no way they have enough food to feed all of those fans.” Fret not, logical thinkers. The PSU athletic brain trust is one step and a garbage bag full of vomit ahead of us, because on Friday the basketball team welcomed eating champion Takeru Kobayashi to take on the PSU cheerleaders in a hot dog eating contest. Naturally, he defeated all of them combined, and I just assume that every fan watching still hasn’t regained their appetites.

And because it’s relevant, here is my all-time favorite artistic tribute to Kobayashi’s disgusting “talent”:
