ESPN’s ‘I Believe’ World Cup Commercial Will Make You Chant ‘U-S-A!’

ESPN has been accused of bias for a billion things – favoring large market teams and star-powered frontrunners like the Yankees, Red Sox, Lakers, Heat, and so on and so forth, for example – but this 2014 FIFA World Cup ad probably won’t upset too many people. Entitled “I Believe,” the commercial invoked the unmistakable patriotic awesomeness of the American Outlaws, a “unified and dedicated group of supporters” of the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team, as fans from across the country chant the battle cry of, you guessed it, “I Believe.”

Between this commercial and the Ian Darke blind date spot, I think it’s safe to say that we’re in for a very entertaining World Cup ad campaign over the next few months.
