At approximately 9:30pm ET on Saturday, the San Francisco Giants and Washington Nationals were in the early stages of an extra long, extra innings affair for Game 2 of the NLDS. At the time, two Giants fans were in the middle of their Giants-themed wedding and decided they would not cut their wedding cake until after the conclusion of the game.

Of course Game 2 would end up being the longest game in postseason history, lasting 18 innings. But these two hardcore fans did not give in. They waiting almost 3 more hours before finally cutting the cake following a dramatic 2-1 win for their beloved Giants after Brandon Belt’s go-ahead solo HR in the top of the 18th.
